The short version

• We only use your photos to repair them for you.
• We delete your photos and the finished files 7 days after you first download them, or 30 days after delivery if you never do.
• We never use your photos on this site, in adverts or as examples without your written permission.
• We don’t use your photos to train software, and we don’t sell your data.
• There are no tracking or advertising cookies on this site.

What we collect

• Your email address and name, so we can send your upload link, updates and finished files.
• Payment details. Payments are handled by Stripe. We see that you’ve paid, the amount and your billing country, but never your full card number.
• Your photos and any notes you add, such as names and dates. These may include people other than you, often relatives.
• Technical logs, such as IP addresses, kept by our server for security and fault-finding for up to 30 days.

Why we use it

• To do what you’ve paid for: repairing and returning your photos (performance of a contract).
• To keep the service secure and prevent fraud (our legitimate interests).
• To keep accounting records required by law (legal obligation).

We only email you about your order. If you’re a customer, your delivery email includes one offer for a second set; we don’t send marketing emails beyond that.

Who else handles it

We use a small number of trusted providers, under contracts that only let them use your data to provide their service to us:

• Stripe, for payments.
• Our restoration software provider, which processes your photos to repair and colour them. We use its paid service, under terms that don’t allow it to use your photos to train its models.
• Our email provider, to send your emails.
• Our hosting provider, whose UK servers store your photos while we work on them.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by UK-approved safeguards such as adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep it

• Photos, notes and finished files: deleted 7 days after your first download, or 30 days after delivery if not downloaded. If an order is never completed, photos are deleted after 60 days.
• Order records (email, amount, dates): kept for six years for tax and accounting.
• Emails you send us: kept for up to two years, then deleted.

You can ask us to delete your photos sooner at any time.

Cookies

This site doesn’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. When you pay, Stripe’s checkout page sets its own cookies to prevent fraud; see Stripe’s privacy policy.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy to take elsewhere. Email hello@printmend.co.uk and we’ll reply within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
